What CharityApply is
CharityApply is a drafting-assistance service for CIO (Charitable Incorporated Organisation) charity registration applications and Charity Commission resubmissions, operated by the Charity Apply Team. We are not solicitors, we do not provide legal advice, and we do not act as your agent with the Charity Commission. You always review, edit, and submit the final application yourself, under your own Charity Commission login.
No guarantee of registration
Registration is entirely the Charity Commission's decision, and nobody can guarantee it — including us. We do not offer "no registration, no fee" pricing. What we do guarantee is the speed and benefit of the drafting service itself.
Fees
| Service | Fee |
| Registration Draft | £299 |
| Fix My Refusal | £349 |
| Governing document review (add-on) | £59 |
| Website consistency check (add-on) | £69 |
| The Complete Package | £599 |
Prices include everything listed on our pricing page at the time of purchase. Payment is taken upfront via our payment providers (Stripe and/or PayPal).
Cancellation & Refunds
Under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, you have the right to cancel your order for any reason before we begin work on your draft, without needing to justify it, for a full refund.
Because this service is rapid by design, at checkout you'll be asked to confirm: "I want you to begin working on my draft immediately, and I understand that once a draft is delivered, my 14-day cancellation right no longer applies."
- If you cancel before we've started work on your draft, you get a full refund.
- Once you've asked us to begin and work has started, no refund is available — including once a draft has been delivered. We work immediately on request, so there is no separate "in progress, not yet delivered" window to refund.
- The quality of the draft depends on the information and effort you put into the guided questions. A draft produced from incomplete, rushed, or inaccurate answers is still a delivered draft, and does not qualify you for a refund.
To cancel before work has started, email support@charityapply.org.uk as soon as possible after payment. Refunds are issued within 14 days of your cancellation notice, to your original payment method.
Dormant engagements
This applies to every service we offer, not just one — any engagement can stall waiting on a response, whether that's the Complete Package's included refusal rewrite (which depends on hearing whether your application was successful), or simply a customer who goes quiet partway through answering the guided questions on any other service.
If we're unable to reach you, or you stop responding to us, for 12 months, your engagement is treated as dormant and delivery of any outstanding part of the service is put on hold.
Once marked dormant, your case is kept parked for a further 6 months. If you get back in touch within that window, we'll pick up exactly where things were left off. If we still haven't heard from you by the end of that period, the engagement is closed and any outstanding obligation under your original purchase ends. Closing a dormant engagement doesn't create a right to a refund — the cancellation terms above still apply based on whether work had already started.
Your responsibilities
You're responsible for the accuracy of the information you give us — we only structure what you tell us, we don't independently verify it — and for reviewing the final draft carefully before you submit it yourself. As the trustee(s), you remain fully responsible for your charity's application; using this service doesn't transfer that responsibility to us.
Our liability
We're liable for providing the drafting service with reasonable care and skill. We are not liable for the Charity Commission's decisions, for losses arising from information you gave us that turned out to be inaccurate, or for indirect or consequential losses. Our total liability for any claim is capped at the amount you paid us for the relevant service.
Who owns the draft
The finished draft is yours. You can use it, edit it, and submit it however you like. Providing accurate, detailed and clear answers will vastly improve the outcome of the Charity Commission's decisions.
Data protection
See our Privacy Policy for how we handle your information.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time; the version that applies to you is the one in place when you paid for your service.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
